Costa Del Sol Choir
2019

A Costa del Sol Choir

Formed in 1988, The International Music Society , otherwise known as "TIMS" is a four part harmony choir that has been singing on the Costa del Sol for over 30 years. Our musical repertoire is extensive including Classical, Popular and Light Opera, aiming to suit as many musical tastes as possible – the popular songs of yesterday and today, selections from well known musicals including Broadway and film, extracts from the operettas of Gilbert and Sullivan, choruses from well known operas and many classical and sacred pieces.

TIMS is particularly well kn0wn for its popular Christmas Carol Concerts which take place in early December at La Cala Town Hall and other Venues.
At present we have members of at least 8 nationalities represented amongst a membership of more than thirty.

We are always pleased to welcome new members, and whilst previous experience or the ability to read music is advantageous, it is not considered essential.  More important is enthusiasm and commitment.
The choir is currently seeking a pianist to accompany them at rehearsals and concerts.  Please use the contact form if you are interested.

OUR 30 YEAR CONCERT WITH GUESTS

On November 22nd 2018 T.I.M.S. celebrated its 30th Anniversary with a highly successful concert at Avanto in La Cala de Mijas. The choir performed some of its favourite songs to a very appreciative, packed audience and guest performers Ricky Lavazza, Juliet Williams and Simona Mango provided some wonderful singing and added lots of variety to the programme.
Sylvia Griffiths, who has worked with the choir for most of its 30 years, was the choir´s accompanist on the day and it was a very joyful occasion.
